Abraham Liessin (1872-1938)
Abraham Liessin was a Yiddish poet and journalist. He was born in Belarus, studied in a yeshiva, and was influenced by the ideas of Jewish revolutionaries. In 1897, he emigrated to the United States and wrote for the newspaper Forverts. From 1913, he was the editor of the magazine Di Tsukunft, which featured the work of some of the best Yiddish writers. He wrote many poems. Beit Liessin in Tel Aviv is named after him
